Organizing IT services efficiently and based on actual usage – achieving transparency with Catenic Anafee™

Unterhaching, 9 March 2010 – the EBM (Genossenschaft Elektra Birseck), an energy provider and leading Swiss supplier of local heating has asked Catenic AG to implement the financial management software Anafee™. The standard solution of the Munich specialist is supposed to support EBM Telematik AG in setting up transparent cost and services structures in the area of IT. The internal IT service-provider of the utility primarily wants to enable a fair settlement of all IT services and SAP usage in the corporate group. In the long run, EBM Telematik AG wants to align its service spectrum more closely with the requirements of the 600 employees and achieve a cost-conscious usage of IT resources.
The special focus are the costs of operating the leading SAP system, which are considerable according to EBM. In addition, a standardized service catalog with transparently calculated prices will be developed with Anafee, to enable a usage-based and transparent service accounting for all departments.
In the long term, the entire complex of service fulfilment – from planning over marketing to revision – will be streamlined.. “The aim is to offer our clients in the corporate group the economically optimal IT solution for their business requirements," says Hans Ruf, department head of IT at EBM Telematik AG.
The newly achieved transparency with regard to IT costs and services is intended to gradually raise user awareness of costs and encourage a cost-efficient use of IT services. - Hans Ruf: “With the concept of an IT that is economical and conserves resources, we want to increase the efficiency of our services in the long term and limit the overall development of IT costs in the corporate group effectively.
