Companies from Munich discuss current challenges of international accounting

The workshop “Internationale Verrechnungspreise” (global transfer pricing) establishes itself as a local platform for dialogue between controllers and accountants in Munich

Unterhaching, November 26, 2009 – for the third time, finance managers of large Munich companies meet on December 9 for the workshop “Internationale Verrechnungspreise”. The main topic of the meeting is the management of transfer pricing systems and the transfer of functions. The meeting was initiated by the transfer price expert Heiko Kotschenreuther and the Munich provider of finance solutions Catenic AG. The aim is to achieve more clarity in regard to critical questions of international accounting.

How to differentiate and charge goods and services ‘sold’ within the corporate group; what are the penalties for violating the rules? - In order to discuss these and other international accounting issues, Heiko Kotschenreuther, a respected expert in the field of ‘Global Transfer Pricing’ together with the financial management specialist Catenic invited finance managers from companies in the Munich area to the round-table discussion.

The interest in the Munich workshop is steadily growing – 50 companies have joined the working group “Internationale Verrechnungspreise” since its inception in April 2009, among them Allianz, MAN, EADS and Münchner Rück.

The complexity of tax legislation in connection with the Business Tax Reform Act II as well as the resulting uncertainty in the accounting of goods and services relevant for taxation have created an increasing need for information in the accounting departments of corporate groups with global business activities. - “The aim of our workshop is more transparency through the provision of practical information, and to enable the finance management of local companies to engage in the regular exchange of know-how,” explained Heiko Kotschenreuther.

The last Munich workshop “Internationale Verrechnungspreise” in 2009 will focus on the current topic of the “transfer of functions”. During the workshop, econometric models for a better economic evaluation of function transfers will be introduced and discussed.

The workshop will be held on December 9, 2009, as usual from 18:30-20:30 in the relaxed atmosphere of the “Käfer Stuben” in Munich. Participation is free of charge.
